The Fringe Takes Off

The 3rd Johor Arts Festival scheduled for 12th to 26th August 2006 sets a new milestone for the Johor Society for the Performing Arts (J.S.P.A) with the introduction of a Fringe Festival running alongside the main festival.

The J.S.P.A. sees the Fringe as an important and integral element under the concept of the annual Johor Arts Festival. The concept as drawn up by the J.S.P.A. envisages four key elements – local, international; educative and interactive. With the introduction of the Fringe at this year’s Festival, the interactive element under the concept is thus fulfilled.

While the Fringe and the annual Johor Arts Festival is primarily organised to cater for the Johor community, a possible secondary spin-off in the years to come is the tourism potential of the Festival.
